Guru.comMuch like Elance, Guru also attempts to connect publishers with freelancers. There are three levels of membership: basic, guru, and guru vendor. Basic is free and lets you see a few (very few) projects which you can bid on. Guru and Guru Vendor cost between $30-$130 per quarter in fees, and allow you greater access to project listings. Basic accounts give up a 10% commission, while Guru and Guru Vendor only take 5%. In order to see any projects using the free service, you’ll need to follow a few steps. First, sign up for a basic account and go to the search. Select a skill listed on your profile (one of your main skill categories), then click on “Refine Search” and use the city you registered from. Next click on “Search Now”, and you should be able to find a few listings for which you can read the proposals and apply. For employers, Guru offers free posting of projects and escrow services are provided. Look for jobs here: guru.com |

Re: Guru.com
5% commission is cheaper than what Elance costs, they seem to have a lot of listings too
