Craigslist.orgCraigslist.orgCraigslist.org is one of the premier sources of jobs in the country. They offer free job listings under the subsections of "jobs" (traditional ft/pt) and "gigs" (shorter term projects). One negative of allowing free job listings however, is that you do have to sometimes wade through a bit of spam or invitations to shady websites. Keep in mind it usually is not a good idea to have to pay for access to a work-at-home plan. When search the Craiglist job listings, make sure to select the telecommute check box offered at the top of the screen. You can also narrow your search down with other options. Unfortunately, the telecommute option is not present for the gigs section, but often you can identify if a job lends itself to telecommuting by the description. Don't forget, there are Craigslists in every major city and many rural areas as well; don't be afraid to go to websites from multiple areas if you aren’t planning to commute to work each day. Working From HomeIf you are looking for self employment jobs, I think Craigslist is your best bet. You can find tons of free job listings for Graphic Design and other jobs, plus advertise your own skills. The only problem is that because there are so many ads, you really have to make yours stand apart. For a profession like Graphic Design, I'd say include a link if you can to your homepage with a portfolio of some of your work. That should help get you business.

Great experience with CraigslistI know Craigslist sometimes gets blasted for too much spam and useless websites, but for people in the tech industry they are second to none. My friend is in IT and got five interviews in a week, all from Craigslist! Eventually he took a job for a small software company in Seattle (wanted to be close to family) and a lot of the people in his office were also hired via Craigslist. I think small companies also like them because they don't charge for job listings. I wish I could get one interview per week, much less five :<
